Wear Prediction of Curved Switch Rail in High-Speed Turnout and Influence of Wheel and Rail Wear on Vehicle Dynamic Performance

A wear prediction model is built to research the of curved switch rail in a high-speed turnout. The Archard used analyze profile evolution law. non-Hertzian contact Kik–Piotrowski method based on virtual penetration as algorithm for model. dynamic vehicle–curved system predicted profiles and measured wheel with different stages established. effect profiles’ vehicle performance analyzed. results show that completely transitions from stock between 35 50 mm head widths. As width increased, position maximum depth gradually moved gauge shoulder. When total passing weight train Mt, 20 side reaches 5.3 mm. which will be further away tip due wheel–rail wear. Regarding derailment coefficient, vertical force lateral are both significantly impacted. However, they have little acceleration vehicle. wheels rails has higher impact driving safety lower stability.
